Volunteers are invited to join the Friends of the Old Croton Aqueduct on Saturday May 5th, 2018 from 9:30 am to 3:00 PM to manage invasive plants on the Old Croton Aqueduct trail in Croton on Hudson.
Join the Trail Conference's Invasives Strike Force as we celebrate I Love My Park day in New York with other organizations. We'll be removing invasive plants along the trail.
Expect to work with expert naturalists and State Parks crew members to improve the Aqueduct’s plant life by removing invasive plants, lopping tree-strangling vines and restoring its crumbling stone walls.
Tasks for all skill and age levels will be available. Anyone can participate. No experience is necessary; we provide on-the-job training. You will need to bring leather work gloves, plenty of water and a lunch you can eat on the trail. We provide the tools.
Many local businesses and organizations are sponsoring and participating, including the NY-NJ Trail Conference. Details on the specific location and parking are available on the registration page.
Register in advance at https://ptny.wufoo.com/forms/z180ah6l0nc9k6s/ and select Old Croton Aqueduct from the Hudson Valley list.
