Nominations for Board MembersOur board is a working board. Members can expect to spend time each month helping the Conference to achieve its goals. The Board meets once per month (except summer) usually on a weekday evening at the TC office. Nominations for Delegates at LargeAn integral part of the Delegates Meetings includes not only Club Delegates, which represent the interests and concerns of the specific Member Clubs of the Conference, but Delegates-at Large who represent the interest and concerns of our membership at large. Therefore, we are looking for individuals who are active hikers, and hold a strong interest in hiking issues, to participate at meetings with the perspective of a general member. At-Large Delegates represent the individual members (1 Delegate per 400 TC members). At-Large Delegates are expected to attend most (2 of 3?) of the Trail Conference's Delegates meetings (one in Manhattan, one in Fort Lee and the "floating" annual meeting). A few years experience as a Conference volunteer or good familiarity with the Conference is desirable. Of course, all candidates must be TC members. If you already have a Delegate's vote because you are a club delegate, elected active member, chair of a standing committee etc., there are no advantages to being an At-Large Delegate. How to nominate someoneSelf-nomination is encouraged, but you can also suggest others if you think they meet the requirements and might be willing to serve if nominated. Send nominations and resume (if possible) to: Nominating Committee Or info@nynjtc.org ("Nominating Committee" in subject line) Or fax to 201-512-9012 (Attn Nominating Committee) |
