Trail Conference’s Photographic needs

  • Projects

    • B & W preferred over color, Prints over slides

  • Film Preferences (brand, speed)

  • Lighting/time of Day
  • Equipment Roundtable (Discussed: Tripod, Shutter Cable, Filters, Zooms, Lenses (macro, zooms, tilt), Fill Flash Misc (bean bag, plastic bags)

Composition roundtable

  • Inclusion of people vs. exclusion of people (vote on preferences)
  • Framing techniques
  • Depth of field techniques
  • When to avoid the sky
  • Minimize subjects
  • "Rule of Thirds" vs. "The Golden Mean"

Hike & Lunch

  • Bushwacked to AT towards Fitzgerald Falls (1/2 mile)
  • Headed to peak (1 ½ mil.), but most of class did not make it due to time spent photographing on trail
