REMINDERS and MISC ITEMS!
1. MEETING SCHEDULE for the rest of 2002:
- Monday, July 29 PICNIC
- Monday, Sept. 23, EF Library

- Monday, Dec. 30, EF Library
2. Does anyone have any reports of damage from the recent heavy storms
(including the fringes of the Pawling tornado?). So far, nothing has been
reported back to Ron Rosen...
3. It’s that time of year again —supervisors should have received
Trail Maintenance reports by now (the reporting period ended on May 31).
Supervisor’s Reports are due to the Chair on June 14th (or bring them to
this meeting). Remind your maintainers that June is prime season for
getting the trail in shape for the hiking season.
4. The East Hudson Trail Crew will be working on the Appalachian Trail
over Canopus Hill doing sidehilling, rock cribbing, and waterbars. We will
meet at the Garrison Train Station at 9AM. Please let me know if you are
coming by train so that we wait for it. There should be one that arrives
at 9:06AM (leaves 7:53 from Grand Central). As usual bring water, lunch,
work gloves and friends. There is limited parking at the trailhead. We
will start from the Chapman Road end

2. Meeting Centerpiece: Sara Ohliger will fill us in (briefly) on her
full range of activities in her Americorps position with the Dutchess Land
Conservancy–believe it or not, her water testing for us is only a small
part of her entire job there. She will explain some of her watershed
education duties as well!

Information, Comments, & Notes
1. All Committee members, please attend this meeting; or please call
the Chairman (Ron Rosen: 845/454-4936 or 454-1721 (leave a message if not
in) if you CANNOT attend.
2. The Public Lands Corps program has been funded for this summer via
YRDC, and Ms. Jessi Grillo and Mr. Christopher Lane have been selected as
the Americorps leaders for this project. Chris Florack of ATC will be
training them June 6 and 7, and they have begin assembling the youth
crew(s). The leaders have been invited to come to this meeting. In any
case, if you have suggestions for priority work for the crew, such as
boundary painting or POSTED signing, please bring your ideas to this
meeting! Although all locations are possible, those within an hour of
Poughkeepsie are likelier to work for them.
