Information, Comments, Announcements, & Notes

1. All Committee members, please attend this meeting; or please call the Chairman (Ron Rosen: 845/454-4936 or 454-1721 (leave a message if not in) if you CANNOT attend.

2. In early May, Ron was contacted by Greg Troy, a life scout in Troop 40. He is interested in developing a campsite near Nuclear Lake, possibly as early as this summer. Ron asked Greg to contact Don Owen at NPS/AT Park Office to determine if there were any “automatic gotchas” that might prevent proceeding that quickly, and Ron asked Greg to come to this meeting to work out project plans if he gets through the “pre-approval” with Don. The project would include a planning phase to locate a campsite based on the current ATC/NPS guidelines for overnight facility development. Presuming a satisfactory site was located, the project would include the actual site development.
