Information, Comments, & Notes

2. David Reus of ATC has received a counter-proposal from T-Mobile concerning the Cell Tower proposed for the I-84 Rest Area below the overlook. Quoting the letter from Mark Kulik, T-Mobile Real Estate Manager:
=============
“After much conversation and deliberation with the New York State Thruway, we
feel we are able to provide two different solutions to the proposed tower at
the East Fishkill rest area. We can either proceed with the project based
on your letter dated May 7th or I would like to proposed the following:

* Installation of a 100' monopole, capable of expansion to 150' at a
later date if needed.
* The pole would be sited at the site that the crane test was
conducted.
* We would install our equipment on our normal boom arms at the 100'
level. This level will be blocked by the trees in the area.
* All other carriers will have the opportunity to install at a height
lower than 100' without any additional discussions with the ATC
* All other carriers will have an opportunity to install at a height,
higher than 100' up to 150' with the notification of the ATC and following
your recommendations as outlined in the letter dated May 7th.

We wanted to make this offer as a sincere effort to address your
organizations concerns. Both NYSTA and T_Mobile feel that we can work
together with the ATC to come up with a solution that will meet everyone's
objectives. By building the tower at 100', our hope is that all other
carriers will be able to utilize the structure without having to add
additional height. This would avoid running the risk of bringing the tower
into visibility of the trail.

I hope you agree with our new proposal. Please reply as soon as possible to
allow us to move ahead. I look forward to your reply.”
