1. Review and approval of minutes of the 178th meeting, June 16, 2003, and 179th meeting, July21, 2003

2. Meeting feature: DPATMC and YRDC relationships–present and future: We have been working with YRDC for quite a few years, both directly (Public Lands Corps and other Americorps-led projects) and indirectly (water testing with the Dutchess Land Conservancy Americorps person). Given the recent reductions in Americorps [all hope these are TEMPORARY!], we will explore with YRDC representatives the likely directions for the future. Finally, the summer PLC crew has just finished, and there will be a smaller fall PLC program starting up shortly; we will try to define specific projects for completion in the next two months.

3. Old Business, short updates, etc.:

Information, Comments, Announcements, & Notes

1. All Committee members, please attend this meeting; or please call the Chairman (Ron Rosen: 845/454-4936 or 454-1721 (leave a message if not in) if you CANNOT attend.

2. As you can see (other side), our final meeting of this year will be the first day of hunting season, so we will distribute the hunting season press release and on-trail notices at this meeting. We will also discuss the extent of the Public Lands Corps “No Hunting” signing and try to determine if there is any specific areas that need signing before the start of hunting season.

* Any proposals for ATC Grants-to-Clubs program (due end of September)

* Poughkeepsie Journal article (8/6/03) on through-hiking the AT
* Amanda Long’s final well test results: RPH OK, Wiley OK(!) And no cracks in well casing [based on dye test she performed]; Morgan Stewart: Coliform positive, E. Coli negative; Messerschmitt: Coliform positive, E. Coli negative ...despite chlorination.
