Information, Comments, Announcements, & Notes
1. All Committee members, please attend this meeting; or please call the Chairman (Ron Rosen: 845/454-4936 or 454-1721 (leave a message if not in) if you CANNOT attend. Dinner option before meeting: Since we are likely to have out-of-town guests for this meeting, we will gather for a bite at Pizza Village in Hopewell Junction. Those wishing to join us at Pizza Village should arrive at Pizza Village about 5:20 PM.
DIRECTIONS: Pizza Village is on Route 82, about a quarter mile southwest of the junction of Routes 82 and 376 in the center of Hopewell Junction. Other buildings nearby are the Bank of New York, the Post Office, and the Hardware Store.
2. At this meeting, we will delve into the status of the Nuclear Lake property with representatives of the NPS AT Park Office Staff and ATC staff. The NPS so far has attempted to work with Roosevelt-Vanderbilt NHS to supply a dam tender, but it looks like that isn’t likely to work out. Therefore, NPS is considering other options. Although Bob Gray did not propose an on-site caretaker, he did suggest that NPS consider have a volunteer be the dam tender. So, be prepared to discuss the full range of options for management of this parcel at this meeting!
Also, there may be Nuclear Lake-related field work on Monday and/or possibly Tuesday, May 17 and 18. If you are interested in being involved, contact Ron Rosen.
