Elizabeth Levers Memorial Fund for Youth Projects

Elizabeth Levers was a longtime supporter of trails who encouraged and engaged numerous youth, including organizing 30 Eagle Scout projects. In her honor, her family seeded the Elizabeth Levers Memorial Fund to help finance projects conducted by youth volunteers on trails and parks maintained by the Trail Conference. The fund continues today and provides a matching grant for projects that are in need of additional funding.

Projects will only be considered if the project is on a trail that is open to the public.

If a youth is interested in creating and/or leading a project they should discuss it with the local volunteer leader and program staff. Fill out this worksheet in it's entirety when asking for funding for an approved project. This worksheet example can be used for reference. It is expected that the youth attempt to fund the project through other means and if they are unable to meet the full monetary needs then they may request funding from the Levers Fund. The youth must document that efforts have been made to secure additional funds to partially match the amount requested. These can be the value of donated materials or professional services.

Email [email protected] for the relevant volunteer leader and program staff’s contact information.

Additional gifts to the fund are welcome.
