Things you need to know before beginning

  • You need to have a visa.gif (1440 bytes) Visa card, mcard.gif (1389 bytes) Mastercard or American Express card to order from this site or via phone. If you don't have one of these, please browse the site, print out an order form, and mail it with a check or money order to: NY-NJ Trail Conference, 156 Ramapo Valley Road, Mahwah, NJ 07430.
  • See our Privacy Policy for information about how we protect information you supply during the ordering process.
  • We use web pages on a server secured with SSL so all information about your transaction will be encrypted and protected from prying eyes.
  • If you still do not trust online commerce, print out a Publications Order form. Fill it out and mail it, phone it (201-512-9348), or fax it (201-512-9012) to the office with your credit card details. 
  • We are required to charge New Jersey Sales tax (6 percent) on most items (but not on membership dues or contributions) when the items are shipped to a New Jersey State address. 
  • Our postage and handling fees are very reasonable and start at less than $1 with a maximum of $3 for most books.
  • We ship only to US addresses.
  • You will receive an e-mail confirmation when we ship your order and charge your credit card.
  • You might receive e-mail if your credit card transaction fails for some reason.
  • Orders will be processed only on Monday-Friday during normal business hours, but you can shop anytime of day or night.

  • The Hikers' Market Place has two stores, one for members and one for non-members with appropriate prices.
  • Or browse through our catalog to find the products you are interested in. The catalog has more information about our books and maps that the store pages.
  • We offer prices for members and non-members. If you join on the same order form, use the member rates. 
  • Keep shopping until you have added all the items you want, and then click "View Basket" or "Express Lane" to complete the ordering process.
  • Enter all required information including your credit card number and expiration date.
  • Consider adding on an additional contribution.
  • You may receive error screens during the checkout process, if information is missing or thought to be invalid, e.g. credit card number does not pass checksum test or is not a Visa, Mastercard or Amex number.
  • Write down your order number for future reference or better yet print out the final order page.

The top items essentially duplicate the menu drop-down without adding anything new Hiker dude icon goes to old site--and not sure it adds anything besides clutter anyway Highlight is ugly and unnecessary if there is a link I think we need either to retire Hikers' Marketplace as name for web store as it is not used anywhere else or figure out a way to reintegrate it into the site structure somehow
