National Trails Day on the Appalachian Trail at Bear Mountain, June 5, 2010

Celebrate National Trails Day at Bear Mountain

Celebrate the reconstruction of the
original section of the Appalachian Trail!

(Click here for our press release about the project and links to news stories.)

Let’s demonstrate how much trails and the outdoors mean to us all in the NYC metropolitan region. Drastic budgets at the state level taking place in New York and New Jersey treat parks and open space as expendable to residents and those visiting our region.

Come show your support and demonstrate how much trails and the outdoors mean to us all in New York and New Jersey by attending our National Trails Day event.

Activities throughout the day include Kids’ Learning Activities and LIVE MUSIC.
Bring your family and friends, or make it a club outing!
Follow signs for the Bear Mountain Inn and park near the great lawn. $8 parking fee per car.

10am Keynote Speakers

Carol Ash, NYS Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation Commissioner

Pamela Underhill, NPS Appalachian Trail Park Manager

Ramond H. Torrey Award

Presented to JoAnn and Paul Dolan for significant and lasting contributions that protect hiking trails and the land upon which they rest in the NY metropolitan region.
