Who We Are and What We Do

The New York-New Jersey Trail Conference builds, maintains, and protects trails for non-motorized public access to open space in southeastern New York and northern New Jersey. We work to ensure that people enjoy high quality outdoor experiences on trails that are accessible, well maintained, and sustainable.

The Trail Conference recruits, organizes, trains, and retains a diverse corps of dedicated volunteers (more than 1200 annually) who work on behalf of the region's recreational trails.

The Trail Conference serves individuals and organizations who own, manage, and enjoy trails--including state, local, and national parks.

Our work is funded in part by member dues and the sale of Trail Conference maps, books, and other merchandise. In larger measure, however, we rely on donations by generous individuals, local business, corporations, foundations, and our program partners.

Your gift will help provide the Trail Conference's largely volunteer workforce with the organization, support, training, and tools that keep our region's open spaces open to the public. Peoples' health, enjoyment, and continuing experience of nature depend upon it.
