Learn new skills with our Corps Crews in NY and NJ!

Whether you want to come out to volunteer for a single day, every weekend, or bring a large group, you will be helping to maintain our trails!



In general the crews are out on the trails Friday through Monday 8:30am to 5:00pm late May through Mid October.  Check the Trail Crew Schedules


Every day is a learning opportunity but if you are looking for formalized hands on training, check out the Trail U Schedule

Trail Crew Activities:

Prepping worksites, digging sidehill, quarrying stone, splitting stone, using an overhead highline to transport stone, using griphoists to drag stone, creating crush stone (with mash and sledge hammers), dry masonry including building stone crib walls and stone stairs, revegetation and transplanting


Invasive Strike Force Activities:

Manually removing invasive plant species


Be Prepared:

Bring plenty of water (2 liters) and lunch

Wear long pants and sturdy closed toe shoes that you can get dirty
