Intro to Invasive Plant Identification

This workshop prepares you to be a volunteer in the Trail Conference’s Invasives Strike Force (ISF). We'll teach you the basics of plant identification, how to identify 14 common invasive plants, and how to use a GPS unit to collect data. You'll practice plant identification and data collection outdoors.

After completing this workshop, you will be eligible to become a member of the Invasive Strike Force and be assigned a trail section (~2mi) along which you are expected to collect data on invasive plant infestations. This data will then be used to have these species removed by a specially trained crew!
