This course is an introduction to the Trail Crews of the Catskill Mountains region.  Our crews maintain, build and repair trails, lean-tos and bridges across the Catskill Mountains as part of our stewardship program with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation in the Catskill Park.

One of our Catskill Mountains region Trail Crews working on building a new section of the Long Path

This course provides information on how Trail Crews work, how the Trail Conference leads trail stewardship efforts, how you get involved on one of our crews and gives you a chance to spend some time with tools in your hand to understand proper use and safety of the tools while you are on the crew.

While not necessary to join a crew in the Catskill Mountains region, this workshop is an indispensible introduction to our Trail Crew efforts in the region and provides a great starting points for those who are looking to volunteer and join our stewardship efforts in the Catskill Mountains.
