Trail Crew: Post-Sandy Cleanup at FDR State Park, Westchester

As Hurricane Sandy roared through FDR State Park on Monday, October 29, she left over 100 downed trees and debris in her wake. Employees from other state parks have joined FDR staff to remove the fallen trees, but more help is needed to make the park fully functional.
Trail Conference volunteers will join others who love FDR Park and help clean up the mess Sandy left behind. Any time you can spend will be appreciated.
- Move branches to the road for pick up
- Rake debris into piles for removal
Park in Parking Lot 1 – Check in at Pavilion 1
Dress in layers of work clothes • Bring work gloves and a leaf rake.
Groups are welcome. Minimum age to volunteer - 10 yrs. old
Parental supervision is required for those under 18
