Project Description:

We will begin work building a bridge on a new section of the Blue Mountain Loop Trail, near the NJ School of Conservation.  Meeting location:  The NJ School of Conservation. (Driving directions are below.)

For all work trips, bring your lunch, plenty of water, gloves and sturdy work shoes, and be prepared to get dirty. All tools, materials and training will be provided. Beginners are welcomed on all work trips.

All events begin at 9:00am. There is usually a walk to the work site, so please be there on time (call the leaders’ cell phone if you are coming to an event and are running late). Rain cancels – if in doubt, call the leaders between 6:00 and 6:30 that morning.

Carpooling: if anyone is interested in carpooling (offering a ride or riding), please let the leaders know and we will try to arrange a shared ride. (Passengers please be prepared to contribute for gas.)

Travel directions:

The NJ School of Conservation.  From the south/east:  Get yourself to Branchville/Culvers Gap NJ on Rt. 206 (either take Rt. 206 North from I-80, or take Rt. 15 North from I-80 to Rt. 206 and continue north on Rt. 206).  Continue on Rt. 206 past the turnoff to Sunrise Mountain Road and past the Stokes State Forest office.  Approximately 1.5 miles beyond the Stokes office, turn right onto Flat Brook Road. (There will be a sign for the NJ School of Conservation.)   Follow Flat Brook Road for approximately 2 ¾ miles, then turn right onto Skellinger Road (there will be another sign for the NJ School of Conservation).  Continue on Skellinger Road to the NJ School of Conservation (there will be more signs).  We are meeting in a pull-out across from the spillway for Lake Wapalanne.
From the north: (Sorry, I'm doing this from maps—haven't driven it, so I don't have mileages...) From Deckertown Road (Rt 650), take a right onto Crigger Road, then take a right onto Grau Road. Grau Road becomes Flat Brook Road. Turn left onto Skellinger Road, then follow the directions as above.
