Protect the Palisades Protest Nov. 14, 2013 Despite overwhelming disapproval from various environmental and historic preservation groups, as well as four former New Jersey Governors, LG Electronics plans to push forward with the construction of its zone-shattering 143’ tall corporate headquarters. On Thursday, November 14 at 9:45am, LG Electronics begins construction with ground-breaking ceremonies.

We invite you to join the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference in protesting the start of construction for the new LG building along the Palisades in Englewood. We recognize that this construction sets a precedent which will see the utter desecration of this officially designated National Historic and Natural Landmark.

We will meet 9:30am at the junction of Sylvan and Van Nostrand Aves, outside the PNC Bank. Parking is abundant in nearby lots, as well as some places along the street.  Please contact me ([email protected], 646.812.6475) if you plan on attending.

If you cannot make it but want to show your support, you can express your concerns with the LG Electronics:

If you are from New York City and would like a ride, two 15-passenger vans will be departing at 8:30am from AAMCAR Car Rental at 315 W 96th St. You can RSVP on the Facebook page:

By standing with us, you send the message that the people who care about this precious resource will not back down until LG agrees to keep their building below the treeline.  For more information, see
