CROSS COUNTRY SKIER'S NEEDED!!
SKI FOR LIGHT, Northeastern Pennsylvania Regional is in search
of cross country skier's who would like to volunteer as sighted
guides for blind adults.
SKI FOR LIGHT offers cross-country skiing for the visually
impaired on a one to one basis with a sighted skier/guide.
Modeled after the "Knight's Race" in Norway, SFL gives
the visually impaired a chance to get involved in vigorous
outdoor activity, and the sighted skier a new awareness of what
the blind and visually impaired can do. In addition,
social activities provide everyone with a chance to relax and
form lasting friendships.
SKI FOR LIGHT will be held February 4 - 11, 2001 at Land
of the Vikings Lodge in Sherman, PA(about 45 min from
Binghamton, NY) Prices start at $285 for room & board,
everyone who is a part of the program pays their own way.
Limited financial assistance may be available.
