National Trails Day on Long Island

Hike N-S-E-W with the ADK long Island

To celebrate National Trails Day and ADK Long Island’s 40th anniversary, we will offer a series of guided hikes on Long Island’s 3 main trails on Saturday, June 3.  They will include a variety of hikes on the following trails: the Nassau-Suffolk Greenbelt Trail, L.I. Greenbelt Trail, and the Paumonak Path.

Hikes will be posted on our website www.adkli.org after April 15.  Hikes are open to everyone, but participants will have to register in advance. Leaders’ names and contact information will be listed and those interested will have to call the leader to get meet-up details and be qualified for the hikes.

After most of the hikes have ended at 3:30 p.m., we will host a barbecue/picnic at Southaven County Park in Yaphank. Those pre-registering and paying a $10 fee will receive hamburgers, hot dogs, salads and snacks and non-alcoholic drinks. A registration form will be on our website.
