The Metro Area (Alley Pond) Trails Committee, in cooperation with the New York City Dept of Parks and Recreation, is planning an event for National Trails Day. We will be lining the trails to delineate them and prevent side-wood erosion. Also, we will be placing a bed of wood chips on the trails. If time permits, we plan to build an extension of one of the trails.

The Metro Area (Staten Island) Trails Committee, in cooperation with the Staten Island Greenbelt Conservancy is planning to build new trails to connect with the newly opened Greenbelt Visitor's Center at Rockland and Brielle Avenues. Also, there will be an official link-up with the Great Kills Section of Gateway National Recreation Area.

In both regions, breakfast, lunch and proper tools will be provided for all volunteers.
