Trail Goal (from Board)

Trails standards, including trail quality, trail access, and trail information, will be refined and further developed to meet the needs of non-motorized users. At least 70 % of our trails will meet these standards by 2012.

Trail Objectives (deliverable) 

Each objective is handled by a separate subcommittee (known overlaps to be resolved later) 

1. Define standards for various types of non-motorized trails (a document)
2. Determine an assessment process (a document)
   • define deficiencies and assets
   • reporting system
   • determine who are the assessors and how they would be managed and trained
3. Revise and augment trail management policies and procedures
   • volunteer management  and training (what is needed)
   • trails policy (revised document)
   • trail management guide (revised document)
4. Broaden information resources to enhance the trail experience
5. Foster cooperative relationships with organizations to enhance appropriate access to trails
