Daniel Chazin has been writing a regular column on hiking in the The Record (Hackensack, N.J.) since February 7, 2002. Originally entitled the "Hike of the Week" and appearing weekly, the column now appears every other Friday in the Go! Section. All of these columns are archived on this web site. If you have any questions or comments about these hikes, please contact Daniel Chazin.

Since April 22, 2004, a hiking column has appeared in the Poughkeepsie Journal Players Section on Thursdays. The Poughkeepsie Journal hikes are written by a variety of volunteers, with the process managed by Ralph Ferrusi. Columns published in 2004 and 2005 that are of greatest interest to hikers are archived on this web site.

If you are looking for a particular hike, try searching in the box at the left for a location or feature that you are interested in. To find the locations of the major hiking areas near you, you may wish to consult our overview map of the entire NY/NJ area.
