URGE YOUR MEMBER(S) OF CONGRESS TO COSPONSOR THE
HIGHLANDS STEWARDSHIP ACT (H.R. 5146, S. 2749)!
CALL-IN DAY- TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17TH
Congress is back in session but is scheduled to adjourn for the year
in early October. The Highlands Stewardship Act
now has 7 cosponsors in the Senate and 15 in the
House (see list below). It is urgent that Congress
pass this legislation to designate the Highlands as the Nation's
first "Stewardship Area" and to authorize $25 million annually
over 10 years to help the states of PA, NJ, NY and CT
protect the critical lands and waters of this
nationally significant region. Please urge your
member's) of Congress to cosponsor the Highlands Stewardship Act
(H.R. 5146 or S. 2749) and to fight for its passage this year!
