Vote Delayed Again
|
 |
Highlanders:
Please see the press below regarding the lack of a vote on the Highlands Water
Protection and Planning Act in the Senate Environment Committee yesterday,
and what the opponents are saying both in public and behind the scenes. See
in particular the final article that reveals the lengths the sponsors have
gone to in an effort to address the concerns of Senators Sweeney and McNamara,
and details the kinds of things they are holding out for, many that would weaken
the bill to the benefit of developers. I encourage you to let them know
what you think about their efforts to undermine and obstruct this vital legislation
by contacting their offices and by submitting letters to the editor as follows:
Senator Stephen Sweeney: (856) 251-9801; SenSweeney@njleg.org
Senator Henry McNamara: (201) 848-9600; SenMcNamara@njleg.org
Star Ledger: eletters@starledger.com
Bergen Record: letterstotheeditor@northjersey.com
While this is disappointing, Sen. Smith and the Governor remain committed to
get this done and we must do the same.
Yours,
Tom Gilbert
