The state Department of Environmental Conservation, which is presiding over the environmental review of the latest proposal for the Belleayre Resort at Catskill Park, has announced two public meetings on the proposal.
An informational meeting on the project plan is scheduled for 6-9 p.m. Dec. 10 in the Discovery Lodge conference space at Belleayre Mountain Ski Center on state Route 28. Representatives of DEC and the project developer, Crossroads Ventures, will present descriptions of the proposed activities, and copies of the draft environmental scope will be available.
A hearing on the scope of the draft environmental impact statement has been scheduled for 6-10 p.m., Dec. 11, also in the Discovery Lodge at Belleayre. Comment periods may be limited to accommodate all those attending, and those interested are encouraged to provide detailed or extensive comments in writing. Written comments will be accepted by the Department of Environmental Conservation until Jan. 7.
Representatives of the Trail Conference will be attending the meetings and plan to submit written comments by the deadline.
