Learn Where 2,000 Miles of Hiking Trails Are in the Metro NYC Region Friday, June 26th, 1998
Hiker Extraordinaire Fred Liberman will be available to answer questions and offer assistance to people interested in hitting the hiking trails, at The Complete Traveler Bookstore, at 199 Madison Ave. (corner 35th Street), between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. The trails in New York offer trampers of all levels a vast variety of experiences, from a level stroll along a converted railroad bed to a hike beside a mountain stream to a scramble over rocks that ends in a jaw dropping view. Some trails are through ecologically interesting areas, others are steeped in history. Still others, built more recently in the 1990s, exemplify the skills of today s volunteer trail workers.
