Pursuant to the suggestion of DEP Fire Control Officer Phil
Johnson, we are closing the trail on the Schaghticoke Mountain section
from Schaghticoke Mt. Road to Route 341; the relo is to walk along
Schaghticoke Road for the 7 or so miles until further notice. ATC and
NPS have been notified. Pray for rain and do a dance!

There is an active forest fire on Schaghticoke, and it has now
crossed from CT to NY and is burning in the vicinity of the trail
there. Since CT/AMC controls both ends of this piece, the Trail on
Schaghticoke is effectively closed in NY as well until further notice.
