National Trails Day 2005 Report

George's Island - we had 9 people and completed 3 bridges and part of a 4th. Finishing #4 and doing #6 and #7 remain to do. Watch for work trips on the East Hudson Trail Crew page.
Ramapo Hike - We had a very nice group of 15 hikers exploring the Ramapo Reservation and Camp Glen Gray. This was not a work party this week, just a most enjoyable 14 mi hike. Many of the folks had never hiked in this area (they're Harriman, Bear Mtn, and Hudson Highland junkies) and they were thrilled to see a new area and most impressed with the work the TC has done in laying out, clearing, and blazing a new set of trails on the old Boy Scout property. They are anxiously awaiting the new North Jersey maps.
