Dennis Schvejda - Advocacy Director

I’m pleased to announce the hiring of Dennis Schvejda to the position of Advocacy Director for the New York - New Jersey Trail Conference.

A Trail Conference member since the early 1980’s and a Life Member since 1994, Dennis is no stranger to the Trail Conference’s mission of protecting and managing open space for recreational access.

Many of you may know Dennis though his work with the Sierra Club’s NJ Chapter, where he held the position of Conservation Director and was responsible for the wonderfully effective SierraActivist.org website and action alert system.

Dennis will be working to bring the Trail Conference to the “next level” of advocacy, increasing our visibility in the environmental community and bringing our message to public officials. In keeping with our strong volunteer tradition, Dennis will activate and engage our members and member organizations by providing training and support.
