Spring Trail Crew Worktrips

Picture of something

The spring 2006 schedules for all the trail crews have now been posted on the web and will appear in the March/April Trail Walker. The Bear Mountain Trail Project is a major multi-year effort to improve the AT and other trails on Bear Mountain. One of its main objectives is to help train more crew workers and leaders. Meanwhile all our other crews have continuing responsibilites to keep the other 1590+ miles of trails in good condition. Some trips have specific skill needs and registration requirements, but most are open to all, welcome newcommers, and provide training. Most of the crew leaders like to hear from you before you show up so they can better plan the day's work, so let them know you are coming. In some cases this contact is needed to find out where to meet and when.

We have crews working in most of the area so there should be a project near you on most weekends. There are also midweek opportunities.
