Title

Old Mine Railroad Trail in Fahnestock Often Flooded

Body

The Old Mine Railroad Trail in Fahnestock State Park is frequently under water at the Hidden Lake dam near where the trail ends at the Three Lakes Trail. Depending on water level, it may be difficult or impossible to cross.

A good alternate route between the Old Mine Railroad and Three Lakes Trails is a section of the Charcoal Burners Trail about 1/4 mile southwest of the Hidden Lake dam. There are currently no plans to fix the problem since it is caused by beaver activity.
