Title

Staten Island resident memorialized at a Catskill lean-to

Body

Family, friends and supporters gathered at Mink Hollow in Catskill Park on the early afternoon of April 27 for a dedication ceremony at a reconstructed lean-to named in honor of Christopher Nowak, an avid outdoorsman who was killed in July 2008, at the age of 22, when an intoxicated driver struck him while he was walking in Belmar, N.J.. . .

“Through the efforts of the New York/New Jersey Trail Conference and the state Department of Environmental Conservation, we have been able to procure the rights to rebuild the lean-to and dedicate it as the Christopher Nowak Memorial Lean-To through the state’s Adopt-A-Lean-To program.”
