Title

West Milford Environmental Commission to map town's trails

Body

The township's Environmental Commission is preparing to form a master plan for the municipality's hiking, biking, equine and unblazed trails after hearing that a $5,000 grant for the project could be awarded in the coming weeks.

. . . The group is planning to use accessible inventories of the various trails from the township, the City of Newark Watershed Conservation and Development Corporation and the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference - among others - to develop the foundation for the master plan in an effort to save some money, Commissioner Douglas Ott said. However, there could be some serious leg work involved as the commission is planning to locate everything including unmapped paths, unblazed logging roads, trails on municipal property and equestrian routes.
