West Milford's informational trail kiosk to multiply this fall

The local Environmental Commission is moving closer to implementing considerable upgrades to the township’s expansive trail network. The effort would not only draw interest to the popular pastime but also make hiking more interesting for the diehards familiar with the scenic switchbacks that meander through the Highlands.

As part of a innovative project with the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference, the commission is using a recreational trails grant from the state to fund the creation of eight informational kiosks at various trail heads throughout the municipality.
