The New York-New Jersey Trail Conference is pleased to announce the publication of the fifth edition of our Sterling Forest Trails map.  This new edition shows all marked hiking trails in Sterling Forest State Park, as well as on adjoining sections of Harriman State Park and parklands in New Jersey.  A section of the Appalachian Trail is also included.  The map contains 20-foot contour lines, as well as a UTM (Universal Transverse Mercator) geodetic grid for use with GPS receivers and for estimating distances.  Hunting areas in Sterling Forest State Park are clearly identified by unique shading.  The map back provides descriptions of many trails, as well as park regulations, contact information and historical background. 

New for this edition are an inset map (at a much larger scale) of the area around the Park Visitor Center, as well as a table on the map back of all trails in Sterling Forest State Park, with detailed information for each trail.  The map includes green overprint for public access lands, parking areas, viewpoints and other points of interest.  As always, the map is printed on waterproof, tear-resistant Tyvek.
