Agenda

1. We have a guest speaker on the subject of "Metadata" Sharon Oskam a metadata specialist from the NYS Library will bring along a cartographer-intern and another metadata specialist to present an informational workshop on the NYS metadata standards (Metadata-lite), along with inside info about the NYS Clearinghouse, it's metadata repository, options on co-op membership and access, and a pitch from the Coordinating Committee. Sharon has a powerpoint presentation for us. She will explain the importance of metadata, bring hardcopy samples, and provide instructions on metadata use and creation using standard forms.

2. If any one attended the GIS meeting in Westchester on June 22, perhaps they can give a brief report or share materials from that meeting.

3. It seems that finding water quality data in a meaningful format continues to be a problem. Discussion on how to solve this problem. Perhaps a project committee could be formed to work on this issue.

4. Next meeting date, time and place.
