GIS Users, Our next meeting of the Highlands GIS Users Group is being rescheduled from October 27, Wednesday, to November 11th.

Location: Black Rock Forest's new facilities.

For our main topic we have Mr.. Rob Sparkes from the West Milford, NJ  Planning Dept to talk and show us a "Look at GIS in the Highlands Region from a West Milford Perspective."  Rob wants to see how West Milford data can fit with other regional GIS databases. Bring your metadata info.  This should be a good discussion on how good we are at regional info compatibility.

Directions to the new Black Rock Forest facilities

From South: Take Palisades Parkway to north end at Bear Mountain Bridge. At crircle take Route 9W north. Go 9.5 miles, passing West Point. Turn right on Mountain Road at sign for Storm King School. Turn immediately right again to pass through tunnel under highway. Proceed straight to gate, push open if closed and close behind you. Proceed just over 1/2 mile to parking lot for Science Center on left side of road.

From North: Take Route 9W south from Newburgh to Town of Cornwall. Pass Angola Road exit and then entrance to Kenridge Farm (Museum of the Hudson Highlands). Proceed up hill for nearly one mile to first right turn, marked by sign for Black Rock Forest. Take this to T-intersection and turn right. Proceed straight to gate, push open if closed and close behind you. Proceed just over 1/2 mile to parking lot for Science Center on left side of road.
