What can I do to help?

Pride in Our Parks is the only coalition voice dedicated to promoting the need for adequate funding in the area of operating staff, maintenance and capital improvements. The management of state parks and wildlife lands must no longer be shortchanged!

Demand that adequate funding be provided for:

  • Parks and Forestry: $35 million for operations, $26.67 million for capital improvements
  • Fish, Game & Wildlife: $4 million for operations, $5 million for capital improvements (beyond currennt revenues).

Contact:

  • Contact your own elected officials and Governor Whitman. For information about who to call, with contact information:
  • Contact key legislators to press for adequate funding.
  • Ask your friends, family, and organizations to make the same contacts so the ripple effect of responses is overwhelming. Volumes of mail, e-mail or phone calls are needed.
  • When you see a newspaper article, respond with a letter to the editor to show that readers care about the issue.
  • Bookmark and watch this page for Action Alerts regarding specific key legislators to write, call or visit. Please voice your concerns and your support for adequate stewardship of our public lands.
  • Get your favorite conservation/hiking organization to join as a partner.
