Joshua Howard Joins TC Staff
Joshua has filled several roles with the Trail Conference. Starting as the Volunteer Projects Director, then Operations Director and has now been promoted to the position of
Membership and Development Director. Joshua graduated in 2000 from the
University of Miami, with an MBA with concentrations in International
Business and Leadership. He spent the first five years of his career working for the
University of Miami as a computer trainer and Help Desk Administrator.
Joshua has enjoyed exploring Moab and the wonders in Canyonlands NP, kayaking in Acadia Nationa Park and the Everglades National Forest, hiking the
Presidential Range in New Hampshire, mountain climbing in Red Rocks
Canyon Nevada, exploring the jungles of Costa Rica and mostl recently scuba diving in Belize. The
highlight of his adventures began on July 14th, 2001. From atop Mt.
Katahdin, Joshua embarked on a remarkable journey: a five-month and
five-day southbound thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail. During his
2,168-mile odyssey, he rediscovered his passion for the outdoors. His
experiences along the AT motivated him to become more involved in
protecting and maintaining the trails and trail lands he had just
hiked through.
Having grown up in Rockland County, NY, Joshua's return to the
area is a more of a homecoming than a new beginning. Joshua is very
excited to have the opportunity to be a part of the Trail Conference's
efforts to help protect and maintain the natural resources and trail
lands in New York and New Jersey.
