Pete Heckler was presented with the American Hiking Society NY Volunteer of the Year award at the National Trails Day event for the opening of the Mombasha Creek Bridge. Pete was the driving force that made the new bridge happen though the combined efforts of Scenic Hudson and the Trail Conference.

Pete is also the long time Chair of the West of Hudson Trails Committee and a Board Member.
