View from Stutzman Tower looking south toward High Point, NJ
On July 24, the Conference took title to the Stutzman property, a beautiful 150-acre tract on the Shawangunk Ridge south of Sam’s Point. Within the next few months, we expect the State of New York to acquire an adjoining 350-acre tract, and the Trust for Public Land to exercise an option on an additional 170 acres. These acquisitions will secure permanent protection for a 2-mile section of the Shawangunk Ridge Trail.
There are a number of similar parcels along the ridge that the Trail Conference is working on purchasing to further trail protection. Your contributions to the Trail Conference help make these purchases possible. You can contribute online via our Hikers' Market Place or via a check sent to the office.
