The Village Vista Trail is now open, July 2003. It is already on the Sterling
Forest Trails map but it is not on the North Jersey Trails map set.

Description:
0.0 Start at Lion’s field just past the playground and pavilion. Trail
bears right, rising above the DPW buildings. Turn left onto the gravel road
and continue up hill, bearing right toward the water tanks for another hundred
yards.
0.1 Turn left off the gravel road and enter the woods.
0.8 miles, trail emerges on rocky outcrop with clear view of Greenwood Lake
Village streets and buildings.
0.9 miles, trail ends on Appalachian Trail. The junction on the A.T. is approximately
two miles south of Route 17A, 0.1 miles north of rocky outcrop with extensive
views of Greenwood Lake itself, 3.5 miles north of the Zig Zag trail (to Cascade
Lake) and four miles north of the State Line Trail.
