Breakneck Ridge Trail Relocation

Picture of something

The Breakneck Ridge Trail and coaligned Notch Trail, east of where the Notch Trail leaves the ridge toward Bull Hill, was relocated on March 29-April 4 at the request of the DEC Natural Heritage Program because of Threatened or Endangered Species in the area. The relocated section contours around the high point to the north before rejoining the old trail. The new trail is 0.8 mile replacing a 0.65 mile section but the hiking time will be comparable because of less elevation gain.

Both ends of the relocation are marked with signs. Please respect their closure signs.

The dotted trail is the old trail and it is closed. The map snippet is from the about to be published East Hudson Trails Map #102. Closure sign
