Viewpoint Forum

The Viewpoint Forum which was hosted on Hotboards is currently broken and not expected to become available again at that location. (Also by clicking on the Viewpoint item on the top menu bar above.)

We are working on a totally new, redesigned website that will include Forum facilities that are more directly under our control and we should not have the problems we have had with Hotboards, including massive spam attacks on occasion. We anticipate this becoming available this fall (maybe late October). When it becomes available it will be at http://www.nynjtc.org/viewpoint which will display this page until it is open for business.

The new website will have more possibilities for directly involving participate besides the forum. All things are possible, and the more volunteers we get to help the more that will happen. For example would you like to blog on some hiking related topic? We can do that. Even if we drastically reduce the spam (which we expect to be the case), we will still need people who regularly watch the forum and respond with good answers or act as moderators to delete inappropriate entries.

If you have suggestions on what you would like to see on the new site, let us know. Also let us know if you want to volunteer to help with the new website.
