AT Endangered Plant Monitor

DESCRIPTION: 

Help monitor a threatened or endangered plant along the Appalachian trail.

NECESSARY SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Good plant identification skills
  • Some background working with plants (landscape design, master gardener, botany training, etc.)
  • Ability to walk up to 2 miles on hiking trails
RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES: 
  • Attend a one-day training workshop on Sept 29, 2012
  • Visit your assigned location at least once per growing season at the appropriate time
  • Collect data about your assigned plant species following AT Natural Heritage Monitoring procedures
  • Provide a timely report of your data to project supervisor
