The Trail Conference is seeking photographs of hikes and parks for our new website, coming this fall.

What we're looking for:
  • In-focus, high resolution images (taken using an 8 megapixel or better camera)
  • Original files -- not cropped or otherwise modified
  • Landscape orientation (wider than high)
  • Photos should be taken from trails and parks in the New York-New Jersey area (visit our hikes and parks pages for locations)
  • Images without identifiable people -- or with no people at all -- are preferred
  • Photos that are well-composed (focus subject in the middle of the picture)

Suggested subjects:

  • lakes
  • streams
  • bridges, lean-tos, other structures
  • open views (no long green tunnels, well maybe with laurel in full bloom)
  • unique geologic or other features

Please include:
  • Date the photo was taken
  • Location, including park and trail names (latitude/longitude is nice if known)

You will retain all rights to any photographs you send in other than the following: By submitting your photo to the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference, you hereby grant to the Trail Conference (i) a nonexclusive, worldwide, irrevocable, royalty-free license to reproduce, distribute, publicly display, and publicly perform the photographs you submit to the Trail Conference, and (ii) the right to use your name, city, state, and country of residence in promotions and other publications.

This should be you or you have permission from the actual photographer for submitting pictures.
Must include hike or park where taken. More info like 1/4 mile north of white trail intersection or at viewpoint on map, etc. is desirable. As is lat/lon if you have it.
