Trail U 546 - Facilitating a Workshop: Training Instructors
Training someone to give a set program is more than just familiarizing them with the material. Instructors also need to know how adults learn, how to engage, and what to expect. While each course in Trail University has different objectives, the presentation of all courses includes: finding a location, setting a date, registration and announcement procedures, and follow up. Having well-trained field volunteers starts with instructors knowledgeable about what they will teach--and who know effective ways to present it.
Objectives:
- Learn how to engage participants throughout the session
- Be informed about the responsibilities of presenting a course
- Provide opportunities to share knowledge and skills that can be applied in trail work
