Once again the Trail Conference will be offering
an opportunity to take a course which will provide training in basic
techniques, maintenance standards, and the types of problems you, may
encounter on the trail and how to solve them. If you are
considering adopting a trail for maintenance or would like to improve
your techniques, this is the workshop for you. The day will be spent in
Clarence Fahnestock State Park in New York's Putnam County.
Reservations are required for this course.
Reservation deadline is October 18, 2002.
The day will begin with bagels and coffee at 9:00 a.m. The
sessions are slated to begin at 9:30 a.m., and will include classroom lectures
and discussion, as well as field work. Take-home materials are included. At 3:00
p.m., all participants will join together for socializing and the chance to sign
up for volunteering. Sessions will be held rain or shine. There is public
transportation available by arrangement (Metro North Hudson Line to Cold
Spring).
