What do I do if I am ordering on the Web and do not see the expected discount prices?

If you are a Trail Conference member or are purchasing a membership in a shopping transaction, you are entitled to a 25% discount on most store items, including map and book purchases.

If you are not seeing the expected discounted prices, follow the instructions below.

Situation Actions for you to take

1. Make sure you are registered on this Web site.

In order to make a purchase and benefit from any applied discount, you must be a registered user of this website. You can register before you shop, or as you proceed through checkout, when you will be asked to enter a userid and password. Please provide the requested information at that time.

If you are a Trail Conference member and are registering on this website for the first time, or if you are purchasing a membership as part of this shopping transaction, MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE MEMBER BOX when you register.

You must check this box to see the member discount.

You can also register for the site at any time by clicking on Login/Register in the left column of the Web page and then clicking on the Create New Account tab.

2. Make sure you are logged in to the Web site.


You are logged in if your name appears in the left column below the "Buy Merchandise" line.

If Login/Register appears, you are not logged in.

If you are not logged in and are registered for the Web site, log in now.

The prices should adjust automatically.

3. You are logged in but don't see the discounted price you expect.


 


First. confirm that you have validated your registration. Registration is a two-step process; the second step ideally happened when you clicked on the validation link in the email that we sent you when you registered. Perhaps you didn't see that email. Here's how to check your validation status:

  1. Click on your name in the left column to go to your user profile.

  2. Click on the Edit tab at the top. 

  3. Do you see a section near the top of the screen that says Account validation and contains the message "Re-send validation email"?

  4. If you do not see this section you are fully registered. Please skip to Situation #4.

If you see the Re-send message, validate your registration now:

  1. Check your inbox or spam box for an email from [email protected] with subject "Account details for [your userid]", open it now and click on the link as directed.

  2. Otherwise, return to your profile by clicking on your name in the left column of the Web site. Click on the Edit tab and then click on the "re-send validation email" prompt on your profile page. Now go process the email we send you by opening it and clicking on the link as directed.

    If you don't see the email, look in your junk mail or spam folder as well ... some mail services think our email is not something you want.

  3. When you click on the link in your email, you will see the message "You have successfully validated your email address."

  4. Click Checkout in the Shopping Cart box at the upper right of the page to go back to the checkout process.

You should now see the adjusted prices.

4. You are a member or are purchasing a membership in this transaction, are fully registered on the Web site and logged in but you still don't see your 25% discount when you view your shopping cart.

You may have to self-declare as a Member of the Trail Conference:

  1. Return to your profile by clicking on your name in the left column.

  2. Click on the Edit tab, then scroll down to the Membership section of your profile and check the Self-select Membership box.

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Submit.

  4. Click Checkout in the Shopping Cart box at the upper right of the page to go back to the checkout process.

You should now see the 25% discount for the member price.

Still not seeing the discounted price?

Wow, we really don't expect you to get to this point!

Please follow the instructions for registering and self-declaring membership once more before contacting us.
